Track Athlete - Hurdles and Sprints

I joined the track team in 2021 at age 14 after twelve years of gymnastics! I stopped enjoying gymnastics and decided to retire from the sport in June 2021. I always liked running and said I will join a track team. I enrolled at Union Catholic and started with their track team in September 2021.

My first hurdle practice was October 2021. By March 2022, I became New Balance Indoor Rising Stars NATIONAL CHAMPION in the 60mH. I ran 8.61 to not only win the national title, but I also broke the NJ STATE freshman record held by Sydney McLaughlin! That makes me the fastest 60m hurdler in NJ State history :)

My first outdoor meet was April 2022. In June 2022, I was entered into the Championship division of the 100mH at New Balance Nationals. I made it through prelims, semis, and then finals. I placed 5th in the 100mH Championship final! That earned me ALL-AMERICAN status as a freshman and new hurdler!!! My 100mH time in the prelim of 13.57 was my season's best. It is also #1 in the US for freshman, #1 in NJ, and #11 in the nation for all grades.

Up next is U20 outdoor championships ...

In addition to running, Coach McCabe had me try things at practice like long jump (did not like), high jump (did not like, but jumped 4'11 at practice), pole vault (did not like), and hurdles (I enjoyed hurdles a lot!!!).
